There are 180 children staying in Carla Students Home hailing from different parts of India. And there are two monks for spiritual guidance to the students and lay devotees and eight House Fathers as wardens to look after the well-being of all the children in eight dormitories. There are 17 other staff to cook, wash and clean the house.

The main emphasis is to give character building Moral education. The students get up early in the morning to do chanting and meditation and in the evening again they have chanting and meditation. During vacation they have intensive Dhamma classes and meditation courses, special summer camp with various extracurricular activities to boost the creativity of the children. They also learn many handicrafts such as drawing, painting, cooking, gardening, music etc. This gives great confidence in the children.
